A Ball Lock Pin, also known as a Quick Release Pin or Self-locking Pin, is a fastener which is used to quickly lock or fasten workpieces together. The pin is pushed through a clearance fit hole and the sprung-loaded balls are subsequently pushed out of the pin into a recess, effectively locking the pin in place. To remove the pin from its place, the sprung-loaded balls must be retracted back into the body of the pin. This is done by simply depressing the push-button on the head of the Ball Lock Pin whilst the pin is pulled out of the clearance hole. Quick Release Ball Lock Pins provide quick, easy and positive fastening, locating and alignment of parts.
